It was a historic day for the Barni Spark Racing Team and an incredible story.
Nicholas Spinelli, making his Superbike debut with the Ducati Panigale V4 R, then won Race 1 at Assen and thus gave the Barni Spark Racing Team its first ever victory in the Superbike class World Championship. Crazy!
On intermediate tires, Spinelli remained in the lead from lap 1 to lap 14, when the race was ended by the red flag. In second place was Toprak Razgatlioglu, followed by Alvaro Bautista. Samuele Cavalieri took an excellent ninth place.
The young Angolan rider showed boldness and talent, making a risky choice with the tires that turned out to be a winner. His victory was an epic moment for the team and a springboard for his Superbike career.
