The Barni Spark Racing Team achieved significant results in the FIM Supersport World Championship and Superbike during the Pirelli Round of Emilia-Romagna at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli.”

In Race 1 of the WorldSSP, Adrian Huertas of the Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team burned Yari Montella of the Barni Spark Racing Team, taking victory1. Montella, who started from the pole position, led for 76 kilometers, but was overtaken at the last corner by Huertas, who beat him by only 21 thousandths of a second. A bittersweet mockery for the rider from Campania2.

In Superbike, Danilo Petrucci of the Barni Spark Racing Team finished the race in ninth place and also took third place in Race 2 in Most, showing a great performance. With these results Petrucci brings home 18 points in total and is ninth in the championship. The fight for the title of best independent rider sees him 18 points behind Iannone.

In the standings, Yari Montella is second with 105 points, while Andrea Locatelli is fifth with 77 points and Danilo Petrucci is ninth with 54 points.

“When I crossed the finish line I felt a mixture of emotions, going over the weekend. On Friday I was very eager to start, but already after one round my shoulder was hurting a lot and I thought, “but who made me do it!” On Saturday, at the end of race 1, I asked myself, “how am I going to do tomorrow with two races!” Today when I entered the grid for race 2 I thought I would not make it to the end, instead I made a good start and Bassani’s reference in front helped me a lot, then the last four laps the light went out, if I made it to the end it is because of the affection of all the people who helped me, supported me in these two difficult months and the people of Misano who shouted my name at every moment. I did it for them and for my team that in the last period tightened around me.”

#55 Yari Montella

“If yesterday we lost the race today we did our best. Adrian had more than me and paradoxically the red flag gave me an advantage, I could not have attacked him. In fact, I should have defended myself in the last laps. I had little feeling in the front today, but we still managed to finish second. I would give this home weekend an 8, it would have been 9 if we had won yesterday, but we are competitive for the championship and we will try again at Donington.”
